Mark Klett: Ideas About Time. In over ninety photographs, digital prints, and electronic images, Klett focuses his lens primarily on the American West. The passage of time and its resulting effects of change and decay are documented by the artist in images that recapitulate the work of nineteenth-century Geological Survey photographers. While Klett's work echoes the seemingly objective documentary style of his predecessors, his imagesand the project itselfemphasize the transitory state of both humans and the environment.
