| Forty years after the tumultuous and transformative events of the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, this exhibition examines the diverse responses, both political and material, of artists in that moment. The exhibit will include the seldom-seen sculpture by Barnett Newman entitled Lace Curtain for Mayor Daley and will bring together approximately forty works from the time, as well as protest posters, film, photographs and documents. Dr. Patricia Kelly, Assistant Professor of Art History at DePaul, will serve as guest curator. |
