Permanent Collection

DPAM’s collection is diverse in culture and geographic region, with more than 3,000 objects, strong holdings by Chicago and regional artists, strengths in North American and Latin American photography, WPA-era prints, contemporary and traditional West African objects, and Eastern European graphic arts.

DPAM provides educators many opportunities to expand their students’ experience of art, history and culture in unexpected ways. Faculty from DePaul and other colleges and universities around the city have developed innovative strategies to incorporate the art museum as a resource for teaching and learning. Museum staff members are available to assist in developing custom tours and collection study visits to enhance students’ learning experience.
